The truth about locking nuts.

Engineering always challenges physical laws. This test below shows how important it is to find a solution for vibration as you can see the detrimental effects vibrations can have on locking nuts and their ability to hold tension on what ever they are holding tightly. At Lalor Engineering we see this in practice out and about and in the workshop. Our Cabbed vehicles have markers on the wheel nuts to ensure that any movement is noted and tightened to the correct NM load. On many projects we will utilise a tack weld to ensure there is no movement.
